New York City, Savannah
Happy September! Maybe i'm biased because this month is my birthday, but September has always been my favorite month, & autumn is one of my favorite times of year. Something about the hot muggy days of summer easing and the tree leaves turning gets me feeling refreshed & renewed (it's a Virgo thing). That on top of celebrating a birthday feels like the start a fresh new year for me. Usually I try to sneak off by myself for a few days, but this year everything that possibly COULD seems to be happening this month. Hopefully October will be quieter!
Anyways, no matter how busy I get i'm never TOO busy to start thinking about my next getaway. There are a couple places I've never been that I would really like to visit next year. My mother and I are planning a trip to New York City around March or April. Thanks to a friend of hers we already have a great place to stay just across the bridge(?) in New Jersey & a willing tour guide, but don't know anything beyond the usual tourist spots. I'm guessing we'll be there around 5 days.
Also, I'm also looking to visit Savannah, Georgia and Tybee Island for 4-5 days. I'm interested in the architecture, the gardens, the oak trees, and to a lesser degree the history. Plus, I just really want to eat some decent seafood and spend some time at the ocean again. I know I don't want to go in the dead heat of summer, or during St. Patrick's Day, so i'm guessing it'll be spring or fall. Ideas....?
Anyways, if you have visited or are familiar with either of these places, I would love to hear about it! Best areas/places to stay, great hole in the wall eateries, hidden beaches, best things to see or do, etc! You can email me directly, or better yet post it in the comments for everyone.
Thanks y'all!!
