Update on the Move

Hey guys!
There is a famous quotation saying sports do not build character, but reveal it. After this last week i've had, I think the same thing could be said about moving. Especially in the dead heat of the Oklahoma summertime (groannnnn). Factor in that it's a family of four people plus 2 dogs, 1 cat, 1 rabbit & 15 pet rats, & you can imagine how much fun it's been.

We picked up the keys to the new house last Saturday morning, & spent two marathon days this weekend moving morning 'til night. For me, moving always follows a progression; the first few boxes are neatly organized, sorted & carefully taped up & labeled. By about the 10th box we are usually feeling behind schedule, so things are getting a little more haphazard. By the 20th things have usually deteriorated into a sweaty, chaotic mess; everything is just getting dumped into the nearest open box, who cares what it is? We'll sort it out later. I just want to get this OVER with.

We only moved a few blocks across the street, but it was into an older, much nicer subdivision adjoining a country club & golf course. There are many lovely mature hardwood trees lining the streets, & the whole thing feels much more shady & private. The house itself is MUCH nicer--4 bedrooms, 3-car garage, & my own private office and/or work studio!! Best of all, there is a swimming pool in the backyard that has Alan & the kids absolutely in heaven. They've been in there 3 times a day since we moved in. Even the DOGS are swimming!

I have a new address, phone # etc so email me privately if you want the update. In the meanwhile, we're just trying to finish up the last of the move & tie up all the loose ends. The new house is so much bigger than the old one we keep losing each other in the halls. Talk to you again soon! xoxo,
